2021.
2021 was a pretty eventful year for me with many many firsts.
I had my first “big-kid” internships, attended a huge chunk of university online, stayed in a new city for the summer, moved into my first apartment, started eating kale, and learned how to cook.
🏆 Big Wins
Took a gap (spring) quarter to intern as a software engineer at Tesla from January - April
Re-elected as president of my baby, Women in Computing @ UCR
Raised 1.5 million dollars from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation for the Bourns College of Engineering to support women computer science students at UCR
Interned as a software engineer and product manager at Microsoft from June - September
Guest lectured over 300 students in ENGR101
Started my junior year synchronously at UCR
Saw my Microsoft intern project get shipped 🚀 check it out here: AKS support for WebAssembly System Interface (WASI) workloads
🌱 New Habits & Experiences
Got into podcasts, especially HIBT and the Jay Shetty one
Rekindled my love for blogging on this platform, love ya Substack
Climbed Mission Peak in the East Bay
Moved to Seattle for the summer
Took up film photography on a 35mm film camera
Went to my first comedy show at the Masonic where I saw Hasan Minhaj
Got bangs and long layers and felt like Matilda Djerf for 2 months
