Welcome to the Monthly Top 10 series! I thought it would be fun to document the 10 things, places, and experiences I enjoyed each month. Here are my faves from July!
p.s. Some of these items may be sold out, so I linked some similar options below :)
1. Clarin’s Lip Comfort Hydrating Oil
I was on the hunt for a lip gloss but I hate the sticky, tacky feel that most glosses have, from drugstore to high-end. This lip oil caught my eye at Sephora, and after trying it on — I knew I had finally found the one. I love pairing this with Glossier’s Ultralip ( a hydrating lipstick) to get a natural pop!

2. Metallic Knits, Specifically Tops
Metallic. Knits. Two words I never thought I’d use in the same sentence yet here we are. I own the top above and I love this top. Especially the way the metallic detail isn’t in your face, but rather a subtle sheen. I paired this with a white skirt (I’ll share it later in another post) for inspiration. Metallic knits can look great in skirts, tube tops, and if done right, sweaters too. This one is from Zara but sold out, but I linked some similar ones below:
Free People Gold Rush Longsleeve (78)
Dissh Stone Metallic Bandeau (56)
3. Carrie Soto Is Back by Taylor Jenkins Reid
Maybe because I read this while Wimbledon was happening I liked it a little extra, but this book did not disappoint. I know Carrie Soto is quite a controversial character, but it was a great read, reminding me that every hero has her ups and downs. Is this TJR’s best book? No, it’s no Evelyn Hugo, but for a light summer read, I would pick this up.
4. Barbenheimer
Okay, okay. I LOVED both of these films so so much. Nolan and Gerwig in that order was pure summer bliss. As a bit of a history nerd, Oppenheimer was fascinating and kept me on the edge of my seat. Cillian Murphy was fantastic, and if you haven’t already, go watch. Now, Barbie was THE movie of the year. As a massive fan of Greta Gerwig’s previous work (see Ladybird), I already knew I’d like Barbie. This movie had many layers despite the trailer's sparkly, bubble-gum pop vibe. I adore Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling (he really brought the Kenergy), and I feel that every person, young and old should watch this. Did I shed a few tears — absolutely.
p.s. Issa Rae as president would not be so bad, she is hilarious (i.e. Insecure).
5. Gold Heart Earrings
I bought these for my trip to Italy earlier this year, but these are my go-to for any fine dressing! The quality is solid and I love the hammered metal look on these. I wear these religiously as they make a regular appearance on my Instagram.

6. Sequin Mini Skirts
Owning a sequin mini was not on my 2023 bingo card. I never held anything with sequins until I realized I needed something to wear for the Eras Tour. So thank you Miss Swift for pushing me outside of my comfort zone. I’ve paired this sparkly skirt with kitten heels and cowboy boots successfully.

7. Girls O’Clock on Tiktok
I’ve been a watch girl for as long as I remember. I had a Hello Kitty watch, then when I was around 8, my grandfather gave me a beautiful oval maroon and gold watch (similar to the shape of a Cartier Baignoire), and I’ve been gifted beautiful rose-gold and yellow-gold timepieces. As I further my career, I hope one day to get my hands on a vintage blue leather Tank (I put a bid on eBay for one, only to get outbid 200% an hour later LOL). But for now, Girls O’Clock on Tiktok suffices. I love the personal wrist shots submission via DM and seeing what kinds of vintage pieces people own. The woman behind it, Trang Trinh, is a fashion editor at Moda Operandi, and her knowledge of timepieces is — chef’s kiss.

8. Colorful Drinkware
Bye-bye red solo cups!
I hosted my first post-grad dinner party last month and picked up fun colored glassware. I got purple and green iridescent martini glasses, and everyone loved them. The exact ones are unavailable from Anthropologie but I linked some others that caught my eye.

9. Stone Fruit Salad
Summer = Peaches Season
I was never really a peach, plum, or nectarine enthusiast unless it involved my mom’s summer peach cobbler — until now. I tried this salad for the first time at a tapas bar and I still can’t stop thinking about it. All you need are your stone fruits, watercress/microgreens, goat cheese, creme fraiche, and mignonette, and this is optional but mini-fried ricotta chunks!
10. Suits (TV Show)
I needed a break from my usual HBO lineup of Succession and White Lotus and ended up watching Suits. Is it absolutely dramatic, yes, but sometimes we need a light watch and Mike and Harvey’s banter is entertaining.
